Day 1: Evening and After Hours

We checked out the Daydream and AR demos which were pretty cool.  AR is not quite there yet in my opinion.  We did run into a guy from DC who's also in govt contracting (NAG incorporated) which was cool and random.  Exchanged info and talked about getting together back on the east coast to talk about clients/teaming, etc.  He was nice enough to take some photos of us trying out one of the AR apps on the new Asus hardware which will be released in the next 2 months.

We checked out MoDA (Museum of Developer Art) which was ... meh .. in my opinion.  Pheebs thought it was kinda cool.  Basically just some paintings and then two interactive exhibits - one where you can superimpose your figure on an interactive waterfall and the water will splash around you and the other was just an animation of random bird patterns (birds flying randomly).  Here's the latter with Pheebs in the foreground:

And a video for good measure:

Then we got some beers and this guy was pouring 'em.  This is a good friend's cousin who I recently sold a car to in DC/VA.  We were both equally shocked to find the other person at this event.

We also checked out the arcade and a 360 video simulator. All in all a pretty good night.
